Strong and simply designed character Oak furniture for this busy kitchen in a Devonshire Farmhouse.
The shaped island connects all aspects of this long kitchen and dining area. The curved Oak breakfast bar appears to float above the granite.
The chunky oak brackets supporting the breakfast bar echo the sides of the canopy over the Aga and emphasise the strength in the furniture
Tall Oak larder cabinets and Sub-Zero appliances provide generous storage space for food and wine.
The beautiful curve of the breakfast bar leads to the Aga, with a granite shelf behind for oils and condiments. The Oak and Sapphire Brown granite is complimented by the colours in mosaic tiles behind.
Looking back into the kitchen from the dining area is a pair of beautifully made dressers. The concave shape is perfect for these two corners; they frame the opening and add to the intimacy of the dining area.
The convex corner cabinet gives a sense of space near the busy entrances to the kitchen and introduces the curves that are repeated throughout the design.
This statement canopy was a deliberative design to complement the furniture aesthetically, conceal an extractor and work ergonomically for the cook.
The tall curved larder cabinet illustrates the beauty of natural Oak and softens the entrance to the room.
The island had to be narrow to work with the width of the room and the interesting angle ensures that there is ample space around it. There are plenty of cupboards and drawers for storage and a generous work surface for food preparation.
An oak sideboard was made to fit into a craggy brick fireplace. A simple oak shelf finished off a nook in the wall with concealed lighting above both bespoke pieces.
